John J. De Gan
Jack De Gan, Chief Investment Officer and principal at Harbor Advisory Corporation is rapidly becoming a nationally recognized figure in investing and financial management. In the course of the last year, he has become a regular guest contributor on CNBC's top rated morning financial show "Squawk Box," hosted by Joe Kernen, Becky Quick and Carl Quintanilla.
"Squawk Box" is a pre-market morning news and talk program where nationally known figures in business and politics discuss their most important stories. In the last 12 months, Mr. De Gan has made 14 appearances on the program. In addition, he is regularly quoted in Barron's, the national financial newsweekly, on matters of both personal and corporate finance.
Mr. De Gan joined Harbor Advisory Corporation as a senior portfolio manager in 1996, and actively manages many of the firm's client portfolios. Founded in 1972, Harbor Advisory is an independent investment management firm managing investments for 90 (ninety) family groups with total assets of $120 million. The firm is a fee-only registered investment adviser, is not affiliated with any other entity and sells no products.
Prior to joining Harbor Advisory, Mr. De Gan spent 10 years as an assistant Vice President for Merrill Lynch, where he managed assets for families and small institutions. He began his career as a senior financial analyst for Dennison Manufacturing Co. in Framingham, MA.
Mr. De Gan holds a, MS in Finance from Bentley College, and a BS in economics and business from Bentley. He is married and currently resides with his wife Jackie and two children in Topsfield, MA.
